About the Role
We are supporting a venture-backed SaaS business to appoint its first full-time CFO. The company has completed its Series A, reached strong recurring revenue, and is now preparing for a professionally managed Series B round to fund the next stage of growth.
The CFO will report to the founder-CEO and join the statutory board. You will lead finance across planning, controls, reporting, and investor engagement. The focus is to build a finance function that supports scale, provides clarity to the board, and meets institutional investor standards.
You will own the operating model, develop investor-grade reporting, and support commercial decisions with rigour. This includes SaaS metrics, capital allocation, scenario planning, and cost discipline. There is no legacy to fix, but maturity is now essential. The company needs strong financial foundations, not bureaucracy.
Requirements
We are looking for a CFO who brings financial control, commercial judgement, and investor credibility.
Essential:
- Experience as CFO or FD in a SaaS or recurring revenue business
- Ownership of fundraising and investor engagement at Series A or B
- Deep understanding of SaaS metrics, cashflow, and unit economics
- Proven ability to build systems and reporting for growth-stage companies
- Strong communication skills, with the confidence to challenge and advise at board level
- Discipline to build what is needed and avoid what is not
Preferred:
- Exposure to secondary transactions or partial exits
- Familiarity with institutional investor reporting standards
- Prior management of tax, audit, compliance, and legal relationships
This role suits someone who wants to shape outcomes, not just report them. You will need to operate with pace, bring clarity to complexity, and lead without ego.
About the Organisation
The business is a venture-backed B2B SaaS platform with clear product-market fit, strong retention, and expanding customer demand. Revenue is growing consistently and capital has been deployed with discipline.
It is backed by a respected European venture firm and is now preparing for Series B to fund further scale. The founder is commercially strong and the board is active but constructive. Leadership is lean, capable, and delivery focused.
The CFO will play a central role in how the business plans, raises, and grows. This is not a reporting role. It is a strategic finance seat in a scaling company that expects precision and rewards clarity.
